Summary of Test Method
This colormetric test method is used for the determination
of protein levels in NR and its products. The test method
involves the extraction of residual aqueous solubile proteins
from NR followed by the precipitation of these proteins to
remove interfering, water-soluble substances. The protein
content is then determined by the Lowry method of protein
analysis using a protein standard for quantitation.
Spectrophotometric measurement is made at a wavelength in
the range 600 to 750 Hz (nm).
Significance of Use
This test method, for the determination of protein levels
in NR is primarily intended to test latex or related materials
for residual protein content. Just send your samples, approximately
10 grams, liquid or solid, and in 13 to 15 days, you'll have the
results.
Please to not touch the sample with free hands, only
with forceps!
According to this Standard, maximum admissible protein
content would be 200micrograms/g.
