Guide to GELUX™ Custom Selection GELUX™ precision manufactured polyacrylamide precast electrophoresis gels assure significant time savings, convenience and efficiency to the PAGE user, while offering a convenient, standardized and cost effective alternative to do-it-yourself gels. Individual pre-formed wells are built into each cassette to ensure the integrity of each sample. This is a patented, transparent flexible polyester film designed to support polyacrylamide gels. The acrylamide monomers covalently attach to the coating on the film during the polymerization process so that slab gels of any acrylamide concentration can be easily handled without tearing. Gels remain permanently attached to the film through electrophoresis and all subsequent fixing, staining, destaining and drying procedures. Gels retain their original dimensions (except thickness) after drying. Dried gels are suitable for densitometric scanning, autoradiography, projection or permanent mounting in laboratory notebooks.
